Happy 78th Independence Day to all Pakistanis. As Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah said: “Work, work and work — we are bound to success.” These golden words should be our national direction.
Instead of focusing on tree planting, eradicating polio, promoting education, or ensuring safety, health, and gender equality, the Sindh government is busy with symbolic gestures and wasteful spending. I recently heard they plan an hour-long fireworks display. Why? What benefit does this bring? Why waste resources when critical issues remain unresolved?
This is why Sindh lags behind—misplaced priorities and no urgency on real problems. Let’s make 14 August a day of genuine commitment, not just noise and lights. If we truly value independence, we must work for a stronger, healthier, and more educated Pakistan.
