LAHORE - Activists of Air league of PIA employees (CBA) tortured one another in a brawl - what they called a misconception - but an insider termed it war of vested interests.
Both the parties have submitted their applications to a police station few days back but they are not pursuing their applications. Sources in the national flag carrier said that fighters were backed by Ahmad Butt president and Mehmood Bokhari Secretary General of Air League Lahore chapter.
President Ahmad Butt, when contacted, said that it happened due to misconception and they were not pursuing the applications filed with police.
He said that the management had suspended Ahmad Bokahri from his office of Secretary General Air League. To a question that president was also being suspended from his office, he replied, “I am very much there as the president of Air League Lahore. No such orders have been issued so far”.
He said that a telex in this regard was received from Karachi, wherein only Mehmood Bokhari was suspended and no other instruction was issued.
Sources said that Shoaib Kahlid has been nominated as Secretary General of the CBA while Ali Salman from Speedex was being nominated as President of Air League. Sources disclosed that the differences developed when Mehmood Bokhari was out of station and President Ahmad Butt nominated Jabbar as Secretary General replacing Bokhari. On which, Bokhari appeared angry and the scuffle started.
As per police, the applications and medical certificates which both parties have submitted action could be taken against them under sections 337A, 337A-1, 148 and 149 on both sides.
An insider said that the real differences started on the distribution of duties among the loaders in Wheel chair, Crew Duties, CIP Lounge and Traffic departments.
When this scribe tried to contact Mehmood Bokhari, his cell phone remained unattended.
