NOSHEHRA - Six bodies were recovered from the bank of Indus River in Noshehra on Saturday.
Police said locals of the area informed them that some unidentified people were lying dead at the bank of the Indus River in Nizampur area.
They reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the district headquarters hospital (DHQ) for medico-legal formalities.
Sources said identity of the dead could not be ascertained, however, their ages were around 25 to 40 and their physique and complexion resembled to Afghan refugees. The deceased were shot multiple times, said hospital sources.
Police have registered an FIR against unidentified people and an investigation was in progress, said police sources.
It is not the first incident of brutal killing. In another happening in Resalpur area of Noshehra, six bodies were recovered about a week before.

IN CHARSADDA
Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: A lady health worker was seriously injured when armed men opened fire on her at Charsadda Road on Saturday.
Khazana Police told The Nation that the incident occurred in Sherojangi bus stop when lady health worker Tahira Naz was waiting on a roadside. Police said in the meantime unidentified sprayed several bullets on her. She sustained serious injuries on abdominal region and was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar for emergency medical treatment.
After the incident heavy contingent of Khazana Police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. They started a search operation, however, no arrest had been made after so far.
Pertinent to mention here that earlier a lady health worker was also kidnapped and later gunned down in Peshawar.
