PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakthunkhwa Minister for Environment and Forests, Wajid Ali Khan here on Wednesday urged the Jumaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf (PTI) to review its decision and attend the All Parties Conference (APC) convened by Awami National Party (ANP) in Islamabad on Thursday for restoration of peace and alking to APP here, the Minister said ANP has not convened the APC for political gains but took this important decision in the country’s larger interests to formulate a national policy for restoration of durable peace and tackling the menace of terrorism and militancy on permanent basis.
The decisions come out from the APC would help provide a clear road map to future Governments to bolster peace process and get rid of menace of terrorism and militancy once and for all.
He expressed the hope the leadership of PTI and JI would review their decisions of boycotting the APC and will send their representatives to attend this important political moot and will share their valuable input.
He said PPP, PML-N, PML-Q, JUI-S and JUI-F have shown willingness to participate in the APC that was a good omen. He said ANP has invited all political parties to attend the moot and to take all the political and religious parties on board.
The idea of the APC was initiated after the assassination of ANP senior leader and provincial minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour in December 2012 who was killed in deadly suicide attack in Dhaki Lalbandi in Qissa Khwani Peshawar.
He said about 25 political parties would attend the APC including PPP, JUI-S, PML-Q, PML-N, JUI-F, BNP-M, MQM, PKMAP, BNP-A, Sindh Awami Tehreek, Sunni Tehreek, JUP-S, Awami Workers Party (AWP), Tehreek-e-Islami, Sindh United Party, Qaui Watan Party, JUP-Noorani and Hazara Democratic Party (HDP). He lauded the leadership of the above political parties for showing their willingness to attend the APC.
He said terrorism was not an issue of ANP but a national and global issue and time has come to adopt a clear formula and policy owned by all political parties on this issue for four survival.
He said all arrangements have been completed for this important moot.
The ANP leader said all eyes on APC and its recommendations would be shared with Govt.
