Pakistan reaffirms full solidarity with Kashmiris

Kashmir Martyrs Day

Islamabad - President Dr.Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday pledged to stand with Kashmiris in their just struggle for right to self-determination.

In a tweet, President Alvi said the Kashmiris struggle against illegal Indian occupation is just and selfless.

“I salute my Kashmiri brothers and sisters on Kashmir Martyrs Day”, President said in his tweet.

The President said Pakistan will continue to provide diplomatic, political and legal support to the Kashmiris in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir till they achieve their goal of freedom. “That day is not far Insha’Allah. We shall see as struggle for freedom continues by the brace”, he added.

He said the spirit of the 22 martyrs of 13 July, 1931 has been kept alive by their descendants who demand self-determination as guaranteed by the international community.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan while reiterating support for Kashmiris on Kashmir Martyrs Day has said that Pakistan stands with the Kashmiris in their just struggle and will not compromise till they get their right to self-determination guaranteed by UNSC resolutions.

President, PM pledge to stand with Kashmiris in struggle for right to self-determination

“We stand with Kashmiris on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day and pay tribute to 22 Shuhada of 13 July 1931, who were martyred when the Dogra Maharaja’s soldiers fired on peaceful protestors”,Prime Minister said in a series of tweets.

He said that Kashmiris struggle against tyranny and illegal Indian Occupation is steeped in a history of resistance and sacrifice.

He said this indomitable spirit of resistance remains alive as Kashmiri men and women continue to fight illegal Indian Occupation.

Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over are observing Kashmir Martyrs Day to pay homage to martyrs of July 13, 1931.

Meanwhile, Pakistan yesterday reaffirmed full solidarity with the Kashmiris on Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir.

On the occasion of Yaum-e-Shuhada-e-Kashmir, the government and people of Pakistan paid homage to the 22 sons of Held Kashmir, who laid down their lives fighting the brutal Dogra forces in Srinagar in 1931.

The martyrs lost their lives during protest against sham trial of a Kashmiri leader on trumped up charges. The courage of these martyrs galvanised an unparalleled struggle for self-determination in 1931 that continues till date.

Yaum-e-shuhada-e-Kashmir is observed in Pakistan and on both sides of the Line of Control as well as by Kashmiri and Pakistani diasporas across the globe each year to commemorate the valour and sacrifices of the Kashmiris.

Over 390 Kashmiris have been martyred by the Indian Occupation Forces in IIOJK since August 5th, 2019. During this year (2021) alone, the Indian Occupation Forces have extra-judicially killed 85 innocent Kashmiris including young boys and women; arbitrarily arrested and detained 537 Kashmiris; and destroyed 31 houses of Kashmiri people.

The unabated Indian repression over the past seven decades, has failed to break the will of the Kashmiri people, said the Foreign Ministry.

“As we commemorate the sacrifices of innocent Kashmiris today, we once again call upon the international community, particularly the United Nations and human rights organizations, to investigate the persistent extra-judicial killings of Kashmiris by Indian Occupation Forces and bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice,” the statement said.

Pakistan will continue to support its Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle against Indian oppression till the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in the relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions, it added.

“Pakistan in a clear message said that it would continue to support its Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle against Indian oppression till the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in the relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions,” it said.
