LAHORE - The Punjab government, surprisingly, has not announced any allocation of funds in budget 2014-15 for the construction of Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro Bus Projects or any other transport sector major project. However, the finance minister, in his speech, pledged to complete the mega project with Rs41.40 billion in current fiscal year.
It is likely that the provincial government will make cut from other sectors development funds to complete the multi-billion project following the pattern of Lahore Metro Bus project.
The minister claimed to complete Multan Metro Bus project with Rs30b following the start of Faisalabad Metro Bus project.
An Orange-Line Metro Train project with the cooperation of China has also been pledged in the speech without any specific allocation of funds in budget 2014-15.
