Patients sensitised Punjab Minister for Food Bilal Yaseen to prolonged shortage of facilities especially medicines at a state-run here on Sunday.
He visited the Trauma Centre at Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ/Teaching Hospital Sialkot. He met with the patients admitted there and inquired the provision of medicines, medical and health facilities.
On the occasion, the patients complained about the non-availability of medicines. He directed the EDO (Health) Sialkot Dr Javaid Warraich to improve the health facilities besides ensuring early availability of the medicines to the indoor and outdoor patients.
He also attended a meeting at DCO Office Sialkot here. He reviewed flood fighting arrangements made by the district administration of Sialkot. He visited several rain-hit areas during heavy rain.
He directed the concerned officials of Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration to establish centres at various parts of the Sialkot city for ensuring early draining out of rainwater and sewerage. He also directed the district administration to depute sanitation staff at these centres and provide de-watering sets for the purpose. He asked the officials to utilise their full energies for serving the people.
40 POS’ S PROPERTIES SEIZED: Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has announced to confiscate the properties of 40 proclaimed offenders who have flown to abroad.
The said POs are wanted by the ACE in different henious natured cases of corruption, fraud and embezzlement as well.
Director ACE Gujranwala Division Rana Abdul Shakur said that as per information, 25 fugitive POs (including the accused officials of the police, education, health, revenue departments and TMAs)out of these 40 POs have fled away to Dubai and Malaysia. He said that ACE is contacting the Interpol for ensuring the early arrest of these fugitive POs from abroad.
He said that the ACE officials of all the seven ACE police stations in Gujranwala Division have been directed to collect the fresh data of the properties of the POs from the local land revenue department, enabling the ACE to get their properties confiscated through the local courts as well.
EVACUATION OF BUILDINGS ORDERED: The district administration of Sialkot has ordered immediate evacuation of 175 dangerous residential and commercial buildings in Sialkot district in a bid to avert any untoward incident due to rains. It directed the officials of education department to immediately seal all the dangerous buildings of the government schools, not allowing the students to study in such buildings to avert any untoward incident.
The dangerous buildings are located in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils. The repairing and reconstruction 30 residential and commercial buildings out of 175 dangerous buildings has already been started, a district officer said.
The DCO asked the assistant commissioners of Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur to ensure early demolishing or repairing of these dangerous buildings by consulting their owners.
