ISLAMABAD-Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Karachi (South) hosted International Women’s Day celebration, titled Pakistan’s Remarkable Women, recently, at Ghafoor Bashir Auditorium, FPCCI Head Office. The chief guest on the occasion was VP Federation Mr. Siddiqui.Hosted by SVP WCCIKS, Bissma Badar, the event kick-started with a welcome address by Shanaz Ramzi, President WCCIKS who traced the activities of the chamber since she took over as president. Guest of Honor, barrister Murtaza Wahab then spoke and acknowledged the importance of the role of women. Nazli Abid Nisar, former vice president FPCCI spoke about her brief term in office at FPCCI two years ago after which the second guest of honor minister Shehla Raza spoke about the challenges a woman has to face in a patriarchal society. An enlightening panel discussion followed in which six eminent women spoke about their individual journeys to empowerment. These were Minister for Women Development, govt. of Sindh Shehla Raza, Dr. Sahibjan Badar, Nargis Rehman, Angeline Malik, Samira Raja and Dr. Nabila Soomro. Chief guest VP Federation Adeel Siddiqui distributed tokens of appreciation to all the panelists and guests of honor.This was followed by an awards ceremony.
