Grabbers turn school into den

Influential people have converted the building of Govt Masjid Maktab School Kohaar-Sialkot into a den where their cattle habitat while the fodder is stored in the classrooms, local people complained.
According to the local notables including Zafar Iqbal, Shamas, Mehboob, Azhar, Ghulam Rasul, Bashir, Nasir, Iqbal, Ghulam Hussain, Allah Rakha Sadique and Sakeena said that the district administration had merged the Govt Masjid Maktab School and Govt Community Primary Model School five years ago due to less number of their students and teachers. However, the administration left the building of Masjid Maktat School useless and the influential people grabbed it.
They illegally occupied the school building and they converted it into a den. The local notables added that the practice was continued for the last six consecutive years. They alleged that the miserable and shameful  situation had repeatedly been brought into the notice of the officials concerned but in vain. They said that the officials had allegedly turned a blind eye to the issue.
No practical step has yet been taken by Sialkot district administration to retrieve the building, they said. Now, the cattle are found tied there and grazing with bulk storage of their fodder. All the inner and outer walls of the classrooms remain covered with dung cakes.
The local people expressed grave concern over the situation. They urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to ensure early retrieving of the building from the politically influential occupants and make sure its proper use.
