ISLAMABAD   -   Despite the outcry of a severe economic crisis and devastating flooding in the country, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif  has inducted  eight more special assistants (SAs),  hailing from both PPP and PML-N.

The notification for the appointment of special assistants to the prime minister (SAPMs) has been issued by the cabinet division.

With this new addition, the number of SAPMs in the federal cabinet has risen to 26, making total cabinet strength to 66 which would be the biggest ever cabinet.

According to the notification, eight leaders including four PPP’s MNAs have been appointed as SAPMs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz includes three MNAs of Muzaffargarh including Nawabzada Iftikhar, Meher Irshad Sial and Raza Rabbani Khar while Faisal Karim Kundi, Sardar Salim Haider, Muhammad Ali Bacha, Mahesh Kumar Malani and Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi have also been appointed as SAPMs.

The portfolios of the SAPMs would be allocated later through consultations between the leaders of both the parties.

It may be recalled that PPP vice chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani met the PM Shehbaz Sharif yesterday and gave the list of the names of his party leaders to be appointed as SAPM.
