LAHORE    -    A meeting of the parliamentary party of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q held under the chair of Punjab Chief Minister Ch Parvez Elahi reposed full trust in his leadership and supported the continuation of the PTI-PML-Q alliance in Punjab and the Centre.

The PML-Q MPAs in Punjab Assembly including Sajid Bhatti, Hafiz Ammar Yasir, Shujaat Nawaz, Muhammad Abdullah Waraich, Muhammad Rizwan, Ehsanul Haq, Muhammad Afzal, Khadija Umar and Basma Chaudhary attended the meeting.

The parliamentary party asserted that Chief Minister Parvez Elahi was their leader and the party stood by his side with full parliamentary, political and public strength.

The meeting was significant as it took place against the backdrop of alleged fissures in the parliamentary party amid rumours of a political change in Punjab.

Also, the meeting highlighted the fact that Punjab Assembly members belonging to the PML-Q were no longer loyal to party chief Ch Shujat Hussain who is toeing a different party line by supporting the PDM alliance in the Centre.    The meeting termed the PTI-PML-Q alliance an ideal one which was delivering to the people under the leadership of CM Parvez Elahi.  While addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that the Muslim League-Q was united and will remain so in future also.  “Together we will advance the journey of serving the people more rapidly”; he vowed and regretted that the rumor mongers were following a specific agenda.
