MANDI BAHAUDDIN - Nasir Abbas Tarar, an aspirant for contesting election on PP-119 seat, held a function at Malikwal and distributed Eid gift packages to 500 people.
Gift packages carried flour, sugar rice and other miscellaneous items costing Rs3,000 each. Addressing the participants, he said the rulers used politics to make money but he considered it as a noble way to serve the people.
During his speech, the fasting speaker got fainted due to humidity and sizzling heat. He was shifted to DHQ Hospital Mandi Bahauddin where he has recovered. In his absence, former minster Mumtaz Tarar who was the chief guest, praised Nasir for his generosity and noble spirits to serve humanity.
He completed distribution of the gifts. After recovery from heat stroke, Nasir held another function at village Pandowal Ranjha and distributed Eid gifts to 200 people.
Speaking on the occasion, he said he would keep on spending his earning for the welfare of the downtrodden as long as his business continued flourishing.
Notables of the area at union council level recommended names of the indigents for receiving gift packages.
