LAHORE - Federal Area were on top against Khyber Pakhtu-khwa (KP) on the second day of the four-day Faysal Bank Pentangular Cup (first class) here at the Gaddafi Stadium. Earlier, Khyber Pakhtukhwa resumed their first innings at the overnight score of 82 runs for four and were restricted to reach 111 runs in 51 overs. Only M Fayyaz and Aftab Alam reached the double figures. Nasrullah Khan grabbed five wickets for 34 and was ably assisted by Saad Altaf who clinched three for 53. Federal Areas, in reply, scored 196 for eight wickets in 56 overs with Bazid Khan (64) laced with 11 fours Anwar (29) batted well. Imran took four wickets for 44 and Yasir Shah got three for 79. In another match played here at the LCCA ground, Balochistan grabbed 68 runs lead in their first innings against Sindh. Earlier, Balochistan scored 173 all out in their first innings 38.5 overs and in reply, Sindh were crashed out for 105 runs in 39.1 runs. Balochistan were 102 for three in 30.2 overs at the stumps of the second day. Sohaib Maqsood was unbeaten with 56 runs with the help of nine fours while Naved Yasin was also unbeaten 34 runs.
