LAHORE As youth celebrated Valentines Day in most parts of the world on Monday, a 25-year-old girl schoolteacher committed suicide here in the City following her lover spurned her and tied his knot with someone else. Police said that Salma Abdul Ghani, a schoolteacher in Hasilpur district Bahawalpur, visited the rented house of her lover Muhammad Imran here in North Cantonment area and took poisonous pills, shortly after she came to know that Imran married with someone else. Police investigators said that Muhammad Imran, in-charge Chief Ministers Complaint Cell, was residing in a rented house in Diggy Mohallah, Saddar Bazaar. The girl fell in love with Imran after he had proposed her. But later he tied his knot with a girl from his family, police said. The disillusioned girl visited Imrans residence on Monday and took poisonous pills. Imran took her to Services Hospital but fled away after doctors pronounced her dead. A couple of year back, the schoolteacher visited Chief Minister Complaint Cell to get her salary payments cleared. Imran helped her and redressed her grievances. Later, Imran developed love-affair with the girl and proposed her. He has been arrested.
