KARACHI - The Government of Sindh has imposed a ban on pillion riding in the city for next two days to avert any untoward incident on 12 Rabi-ul Awal. According to the notification issued by the Sindh Government Home Department, the ban would be implemented by midnight of Monday and would be effective till midnight of February 16. The ban will not be applicable on women, children below the age of 12 year, senior citizens, disabled persons, journalists, personnel of law enforcing agencies in uniform and employees of the essential services. Through another notification, the home department imposed a ban under Section 144 of CrPC on carrying all kinds of weapons from midnight of Monday till midnight of February 16. Consequently all permission letters allowing relaxation for carrying of weapons stand suspended.
