CDA fails to verify staff degrees

Islamabad - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is still unable to verify educational certificates of its staff from the respective boards, raising suspicions that employees have fake degrees. In the year 2011, then Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had ordered verification of the degrees and certificates of officials and employees working in CDA. Action would be taken against the employee working in the organization with fake educational documents.
The establishment division had asked CDA to implement the orders of prime minister in year 2012. The CDA decided to form a separate section for investigating the matter. Security department was given the task to verify the certificates and degrees of employees working in grade 1-16.
But when tempo of fake degrees started to increase investigation transferred to director human resource to keep inquiry aside.
Orders were given that 1200 employees will submit their degrees from grade-17 onwards to secretary board, who will be verifying their education degrees. Practical Implementation of law in CDA can be gauged from fact that so far only 35 degrees have been verified. According to sources, files of officer working on important post are at the home of director HR.
