KARACHI - A man was killed while at least eight people wounded in a bomb blast in Orangi Town area on Saturday night. The blast took place outside a hotel in sector 12/L, Orangi Town area.

Police said some explosive material was planted in a bag near the hotel by unidentified miscreants. Police said at least nine people including Shakeel Siddiqui, Haji Israel, Naimat, Shahid, Anwar, Wahid, Muneer, Mumtaz, Rasheed and Shahnawaz sustained injuries. Police and ambulances brought them to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Qatar Hospital where doctor pronounced the death of a victim Shakeel Siddiqui. According to Orangi Town SP Ali Asif, ball bearings have not contained in the explosive device. Police have unable to say about the possible target of the blast till the filing of this news.

Moreover, a man was shot dead in Ganjar Goth, Sohrab Goth. Police said the victim was identified as Salman Shah, 33. Police said he was returning home from his workplace when at least two armed riders, on a motorbike, targeted him. Police shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to heirs. Police believed the murder was occurred over personal enmity.
