LAHORE - Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) claimed on Saturday to have arrested an officer of Punjab University red-handedly when he was receiving bribe from a citizen.

An ACE spokesman said that Asad Ali, resident of Lahore, complained that Husnain Javed, career development officer at Punjab University Lahore, had received Rs1,50,000 for appointing him in a PU department. The complainant further said that the accused did not help him get the job rather demanded more money.

An ACE Director constituted a team headed by Circle Officer Lahore who arrested Husnain Javed while receiving bribe money of Rs10,000 from Asad Ali.

The accused is a grade-17 officer at PU. A case has been registered against him and further investigations are underway.
