PESHAWAR - Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) on Saturday issued show-cause notices to its three members of the provincial assembly (MPAs) over their conduct regarding the recently held Senate election.

The decision was taken at a meeting with QWP Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao in the chair at Watan Kor. The MPAs, who have been issued the show-cause notices included Bakht Baidar Khan, Sultan Mohammad Khan and Gohar Nawaz.

Speaking at the meeting, Aftab Sherpao said that QWP would actively take part in the coming local government elections. He urged party workers to start mobilising the people and make arrangements for the local bodies polls.

He also called for completing the party organisations in those areas, where the intra-party elections had not been held so far.

He said the QWP would actively take part in the general election in Gilgit-Baltistan.

He said QWP was striving to help  Pakhtuns get their due rights. He said that they would not abandon the Pakhtuns, who have been exposed to a host of problems. “We have raised voice for the rights of the Pakhtuns at all forums and will continue to do so in the future as well,” he vowed.

Aftab Sherpao said the provincial government had failed to deliver on its pledges.

He said the slogan of change was a ploy to reach the corridors of power.

He said that the KP government could not initiate any mega project in the province over the last two years.

The QWP head said the Pakhtuns were faced with a host of challenges as millions of the internally displaced persons were living at the IDPs camps under squalid conditions.
