PESHAWAR - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has vowed to make the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Department an exemplary and modal institution of the country.  

Talking to media persons after inaugurating Command and Control Room in Central Police Office here on Saturday, Imran Khan said that the KP police would protect life and property of the people of this province. “The police in Punjab and Sindh have completely been politicised,” he alleged. He said that Sindh police did nothing against criminals and this was the reason that rangers reacted in Karachi. He said that FIRs had been lodged against his party leaders, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, by Punjab police.

He said that situation was created in Punjab, which shattered people’s confidence in their own police.   Therefore, he said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police would be made an exemplary institution for the entire country. He said that police personnel from other parts of the country would come here to learn from the experience and technique of KP police.

The PTI chief viewed that at least 100.1 million people are living below the poverty line. He said the solution to majority of problems faced by the people is elimination of feudalism in the country. He said that the people would get justice free of cost in a “Naya Pakistan”. He vowed to protect the lives and properties of the people of the province. He will not pursue wrongful conviction of any political opponent. “We believe in real practical steps that can ensure safe future of generations to come,” he said, adding short-term measures are only useful to gain immediate relief. He said that only a well established system can provide a lasting solution.

He lauded the KP police for taking steps for maintaining law and order situation. He vowed the PTI-led provincial government would provide all kind of facilities and resources to further strengthen the force on modern line.

Earlier, he inaugurated Command and Control Room in Central Police Office. He, during the visit, also examined SMS alert service of police and new command and control system.  Accompanied by KP IGP Nasir Khan Durani, Imran Khan visited various sections of the police office. Later on, he visited the School of Investigation (SoI), wherein a demonstration of crime scene and investigation was conducted.
