Islamabad - Islamabad police have arrested five outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 1.480 kilograms hashish, weapons and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said yesterday.

He said that Industrial Area police nabbed Shehbaz Wali for having a 30-bore pistol while anti-car lifting cell of Islamabad police arrested Shahid in possession of 1.250 kilograms hashish. Shehzad Town police apprehended Nazakat during routine patrolling and recovered 155 grams heroin from him. Khanna police held Shehzad and Naeem Akhtar for having 230 grams hashish and 22-bore gun respectively. 

Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, National Book Foundation (NBF) would organize mega book festival on 7th National Book Day to be held on April 22.

The renowned scholars, writers, literary figures, intellectual and artists would participate in the festival and share insights for promotion of book reading.
