Moot on Namoos e Risalat: Leaders of religious parties besides senior journalists and intellectuals will meet at Mansoora tomorrow, March 15, on the call of JI chief Sirajul Haq. They will prepare a charter of Islamic priorities which will safeguard the Islamic laws besides the solution to the people’s problems, JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said yesterday.
Addressing the preparatory committees of the conference, Baloch made it clear that the moot had no political agenda such as the revival of the MMA or formation of an election alliance. “The sole objective of the conference is protection of the Islamic ideology, the Namoos e Risalat (PBUH) and the revival of the Islamic civilisation and values,” he added.
The JI secretary general said that the country had been passing through crises one after the other because of the incompetence of the rulers while political instability and the government policies based on aversion from religion had weakened institutions and national unity. He stressed unity among all the religious forces and those believing in the Pakistan ideology. He also called for a line of action for the nation to safeguard the country’s Islamic character.
