Police arrest 7 accused for having links with Layari gang

ATTOCK  - Police have booked seven members of a same family for allegedly having links with Layari gang. The accused were involved in extortion and other criminal activities.
Sources said that on tip off a police party raided a house at Dhok Sarfraz and arrested Noor Zaman, Ghulam Hussain, Sarfraz Hussain, Amir Khan and Ansar. While Mehmood Khan and Yaqub both sons of Noor Zaman escaped from then scene. Police during search of the house recovered 3 Ak-47 rifles, 08 rifles , 07 pistols , 03 twelve bore shot guns, two thousand rounds and magazines, prize bonds and cash worth Rs34,35,000/, gold ornaments weighing 591 grams, 04 vehicles worth million of rupees and foreign currency.
Sources said that the family of the accused had been living in Karachi for the last five decades where they had developed links with Layari gang, which is involved in different criminal activities. Recently, the sources said, the family had shifted to their native area Dhok Sarfraz. All accused have been sent behind the bars.
