ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is all set to hold re-election on 37 polling stations in PS-59 Badin on Tuesday.

The ECP has established a control room in its headquarters to monitor the election activity.

An election tribunal last year had ordered re-election on all 37 polling stations of PS-59 (Badin-V) which was won by Pakistan People’s Party candidate Mohammad Nawaz Chandio in the May 2013 general election. Chandio’s victory was challenged by his rival Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Mohammad Ismail Rahu.

The tribunal headed by Ashfaq Baloch directed the Election Commission of Pakistan to de-notify the respondent, Chandio, and hold re-election in the constituency.

According to an ECP notification, the re-polling will be held at polling stations 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31, 32, 37, 38, 42, 45, 48, 58, 96, 97, 98, 100, 105, 109, 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118 and 119….ends
