Islamabad - The Federal Ombudsman Committee on Overseas Pakistanis formalised terms of reference (TOR) to identify major issues being faced by overseas Pakistanis as well as the ways to utilise their potential.

The committee held its first meeting here at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat yesterday and decided to present its report to the government within next three months. Chairman of the Institution of Strategic Studies and former Ambassador Khalid Mehmood presided over the meeting.

Senior Advisor Ombudsman Secretariat and Secretary of the Committee, Shafqat Saeed briefed the committee members on the objectives for setting up of the committee by the ombudsman. The committee will formulate a time-bound and comprehensives plan of action to address issues relating to overseas Pakistanis and present its report to the government within the next three months.

Apart from the committee members, senior government officers of the concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
