BUREWALA - Model Town police arrested three accused in connection with the gang rape of a patient at Burewala hospital, got DNA samples from the accused and sent the same to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for matching.
Mohsin Ali, Muhammad Ramzan and Maqbool Ahmad were taken into police custody for DNA tests after two of them got pre arrest bails. The police registered another case against Mohsin under anti-terrorism act for assault on the woman.
Nazim Tabassum, wife of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Saddam Town Burewala, alleged that the accused along with two unknown accomplices had gang raped her in the OPD of the hospital after administering an injection to make her unconscious.
Police remained busy in investigation and the administration also remained on high alert after the chief minister took notice of the incident. Meanwhile, DCO Jawad Akram along with DPO Sadiq Ali Dogar visited the THQ Hospital and inquired after the health of the gang rape victim. They formed an investigation committee comprising EDO Dr Afzal Bashir, Additional Collector Rana Muhammad Saleem Khan, District Health Officer, Dr Nasir Dilshad and District Officer Coordination Mehar Amir Bukhsh to investigate into the matter.
