ISO blasts govt for failing to stop target killings

KARACHI - Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) on Monday staged a protest demonstration outside Karachi University’s Silvers Jubilee Gate against the target killings of members of the organisation.

Dozens of ISO activists and KU students participated in the protest, and chanted slogans against the government over its failure to provide protection to the citizens. Carrying placards and banners, inscribed with their demands, the protestors expressed their anger over the increasing incidents of target killings in the city, especially of students of the organisation.

They demanded the government to unearth the elements behind such activities.

Speaking to the protestors, ISO Karachi General Secretary Rehan Abidi said that it was a matter of concern that banned outfits were operating in the city freely, and were even allowed to hold rallies.
