Court seeks reply from FIA in LPG quota fraud case against Gilani

ISLAMABAD: The court has sought a reply from the FIA in the Rs640 million LPG quota fraud case against former prime minister Yosuf Raza Gillani.

When Additional and Sessions Judge Pervez Al Qadir took up the case for hearing Thursday, petitioner Pervez told the court Gillani received amount from him through his media coordinator Khurram Rasul. “I filed several applications with the FIA but it has taken in this regard,” he said adding that a sum of Rs640 million was received from him under the head of LPG quota.

Assistant Director Legal Chaudhry Hamid Liaqat appeared on behalf of the FIA. The court sought reply from the FIA that as to why it did not register a case and what investigations have been made in this reagrd.

The FIA assistant director legal requested the court to give time to file a reply.

The court, while adjourning the hearing till October 26, ordered the FIA to file a reply.
