IIUI holds mock exercise on security

islamabad - A number of students and employees of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) attended mock exercise titled “Security and Safety Awareness Training” in which they were rescued by the varsity security personnel amid mock gunfire and smoke gun battle.

All this was part of a mock exercise to give the students a real feel of such a situation and prepare them for a counter strike. The activity was presided over by Director General AF&P, Mr. Khalid Mehmood Raja who hailed the activity and said that mock exercise is a significant event which helps to train the participants about tactics and skills to foil an attack.

“We have initiated this exercise to equip students with the basic skills to counter such a situation,” Chief Security Officer, IIUI Cdr (Retd) Aftab Iqbal told the participants before the training began.  Meanwhile, Assistant Security Officer, M Ismail Brohi also spoke to the participants and said, “These days we must be aware of such skills. We need to know how to react in case of an attack or assault-like situation to protect ourselves and the people around us.”
