LAHORE - The City received light rain on Tuesday morning, making weather pleasant by causing decrease in the mercury level. Lahore received 02 mm rain. The scattered showers, continuously blowing wind and overcast conditions caused considerable decrease in the mercury level. On Tuesday, maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 31.2 degree Celsius and 22 C respectively. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded 79 percent, which decreased to 62 percent in the evening. Major parks and picnic spots attracted a large number of people including women and children in the evening. Huge rush was witnessed at Bagh-e-Jinnah, Racecourse Park, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Jallo Park, Lahore Zoo and other picnic spots in the City. According to the experts, seasonal low lies over Balochistan and adjoining areas. Southwest monsoon current from Arabian Sea is penetrating into sub mountainous areas of Punjab and Kashmir up to 3000 feet. Trough of westerly wave persists over northern parts of the country. Local meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy weather for the City during the next 24 hours. Met office has forecast scattered rains for north Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Met office has also forecast rains at isolated places of northeast Balochistan and Khyber PK. On Tuesday, D I Khan received 29 mm rain, Sibi 25 mm, Padidan 20 mm, Multan 15 mm, Jhang and Mandi Bahauddin 13 mm each, Faisalabad 11 mm, Toba Tek Singh 10 mm, Balakot and Saidu Sharif 09 mm each, Bannu and Lower 08 mm each, Bahawalnagar, Kakul, Pattan and Bhakkar 05 mm each, Sahiwal, Kotli, Parachinar and Mangla 04 mm each, Chitral, Garhi Dupatta, Jhelum and Sialkot 03 mm each, Drosh and astore 02 mm each, Sargodha, Gilgit, Murree and Muzaffarabad 01 mm each while Skardu, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur and Chilas received traces of rain.
