KHYBER     -    A soldier of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) was shot dead while another sustained injuries when unknown militants opened firing at a checkpoint in Goodar village of sub-division Jamrud of district Khyber.  A police official while sharing the report said that on Tuesday midnight, unidentified armed persons fired two shots at the FC check post injuring two troops.  In retaliation, the FC soldiers opened fire at the attackers which forced the militants to flee.  One soldier was shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), Peshawar, for medical treatment where he succumbed to his wounds. The deceased was identified as Hawaldar Muhammad Salim, while slightly wounded Sepoy Salih Khan was stated in stable condition.   Soon after the incident, the Frontier Corp and police officials rushed to the site, collected evidences for the site and initiated operation to trace the culprits, the official said.
