Rawalpindi-The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notices to as many as 14 housing societies including six illegal societies to stop advertising in media and other platforms to plunder the public, informed a spokesman on Wednesday. 

He said that the notices were issued on the direction of the Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa and under Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021. 

He said that on the direction of the DG RDA, RDA planning wing is taking legal action against illegal advertising and marketing of illegal housing schemes. The authority has also issued notices to the sponsors of 14 housing schemes including six illegal housing schemes namely Tab City Housing Scheme, Turkish Smart City Housing Scheme, Al-Rahmat Housing Scheme, Nishan-e-Mustafa Housing Scheme, Ample Living Housing Scheme and The Countryside Farms Housing Scheme at Mouza Baga Sheikhan Chak Beli Khan Road, six illegal housing schemes including Pine Green Housing Scheme, New Murree Township Housing Scheme, Hope City Housing Scheme, Bunyad Housing Scheme, Tokyo Smart City Housing Scheme and Green Hills Enclave at Mouza Lakot Expressway Murree, one illegal housing scheme Agro Park Housing Scheme at Ratta Gujran, Rawat Rawalpindi and one illegal housing scheme Forest Town at Mouza Chhani Sher Alam GT Road Rawalpindi.  He said that the RDA has also registered First Information Reports (FIRs) against three housing schemes including Turkish Smart City, Ample Living and The Countryside Housing Schemes. He said the planning wing has also submitted applications in relevant police stations for lodging FIRs against the remaining illegal housing schemes. He said that the owners and sponsors of these illegal housing schemes are misleading the public through advertisements. He said in this regard, the planning wing of the RDA has also requested the Cyber Crime Wing of FIA to take legal action against the illegal and misleading advertisements of these illegal housing schemes to prevent the public from investing in unapproved residential projects.

He said that on the direction of the DG RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the public is advised in their interest to be careful in making any kind of investment in illegal and unauthorized housing schemes. He added that the public is also advised to check from RDA before investing in any housing schemes that also can be checked on RDA website.
