peshawar  -  Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif patched things up with journalists in the wake of recent violence by PTI workers at a rally while he also lauded Pakistan Army role at another news conference on Friday.

Several journalists were injured while some lost their gadgets at the recent rally of PTI in Peshawar.

Saif visited Peshawar Press Club (PPC) early Friday and spoke to journalists there. PTI provincial secretary information Zahir Shah Toru also accompanied the minister.

They regretted the manhandling of journalists during the Peshawar rally of the former prime minister Imran Khan.

They regretted the incident and appreciated role of the media and journalists. They assured the protesting journalists to curb the way of such deplorable incidents in future.

President Peshawar Press Club (PPC) M Riaz and president Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) Nasir Hussain accepted the jirga of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and said they would jointly work for the solution of the community’s problems. They appreciated the sacrifices of media workers and role of the government.

Barrister Saif lauds Pak Army, judiciary’s role: Meanwhile, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif here on Friday paid tribute to the Pakistan Army, saying no one who loves Pakistan can deny the sacrifices of the armed forces for defending ideological and geographical frontiers of the country.

“Pakistan Army is our army and protecting us and if anyone talks against Pak Army by using our name, we have nothing to do with it,” the SACM said while addressing a news conference at Itila Cell of the Civil Secretariat.

He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly rejected propaganda against Pakistan Army and added that strict action would be taken against any such member at every forum including the party level.

Similarly, he said that judiciary was a respectable institution and its sanctity would be upheld. He however said that objections would be raised as legal rights.

Barrister Saif said that some people were having sleepless nights after watching the massive Peshawar rally of the PTI, adding that they had resorted to pitting Pak Army and PTI against each another to achieve their personnel and political gains.

He said that it was part of the political strategy of the PTI to continue its government in KP where there exists a strong opposition.
