The District and Sessions Court Islamabad on Saturday approved the bail applications of nine Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers arrested in connection with the August 5 protest case.

Judicial Magistrate Imran Amir Abbasi heard the petitions, with PTI counsels Mirza Asim Baig, Ansar Kayani, Shamsa Kayani, and others representing the accused.

Advocate Mirza Asim argued that the case was unfounded, noting that the complainant named in the FIR was not the relevant party. He further pointed out that female PTI workers had already been granted bail in the same case.

Counsel Ansar Kayani added that police records confirmed no recovery from any accused, while Mirza Asim highlighted that another case had later been registered with identical charges.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted bail to the nine workers against surety bonds of Rs 10,000 each. The case had been registered at Lohi Bher police station under multiple sections, including the PAPO Act.
