The federal government has announced revised petroleum prices for the second half of August, reducing the rates of high-speed diesel and light diesel while keeping petrol steady and increasing the cost of kerosene oil.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on Friday, high-speed diesel has been slashed by Rs12.84 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs272.99 from Rs285.83. Light diesel has also seen a reduction of Rs8.20 per litre, now priced at Rs162.37.
Petrol remains unchanged at Rs264.61 per litre. Meanwhile, kerosene oil has recorded a rise of Rs7.19, taking its revised rate in line with international market trends.
The updated prices came into effect nationwide at midnight on 16 August and will remain applicable until 31 August 2025. The government reviews petroleum prices fortnightly, taking into account global crude market fluctuations and exchange rate movements.
