Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves recorded a marginal rise of $1.1 million, reaching $19,496.7 million as of August 08, 2025, according to the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) weekly report.

The data showed SBP-held reserves increased by $11 million to $14,243.2 million, while reserves with commercial banks declined by $10 million to $5,253.5 million during the week under review.

In the previous week ending August 01, 2025, the country’s total reserves stood at $19,495.6 million, with the SBP holding $14,231.9 million and commercial banks $5,263.7 million.

Separately, the SBP has launched a special Rs75 commemorative coin to mark the “Marka-e-Haq” (Battle of Truth) and pay tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces, coinciding with Independence Day celebrations.

The 13.5-gram coin, composed of copper, zinc, and nickel, features national symbols including the crescent, star, and wheat sprigs on the front, while the reverse side depicts fighter jets, a naval ship, and a rocket launcher along with the slogan “Pakistan Zindabad” in Urdu.

The commemorative coin became available from August 15, 2025, at the SBP’s Banking Services Corporation counters nationwide.
