THATTA - Police registered a case under Section 302 and other relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old shepherd, Sher Jamari, in the Jhumpir area of Thatta, after the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Thatta took notice of the incident.
The incident drew widespread attention after a video of the deceased went viral on social media, showing him being subjected to torture by suspects Sadar Plari, Piyaro Plari, Raheman Palari, and two others. The viral video sparked public outrage and condemnation from various sections of society, prompting the local police to take action.
According to Station House Officer Ameer Bux Khoso, the deceased had been receiving life threats after accusing Piyaro Palari of stealing his goats. The body was recovered from outside a cattle pen with bullet wounds in the abdomen. Police have arrested three of the five accused nominated in the FIR, registered by the cousin of the deceased. The case is being investigated from different angles.
