LAHORE – Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen has said scientific methods are being adopted to cub crimes.
Inaugurating modern computerised system of close circuit cameras at the police check-posts at Thokar Niaz Baig, Muhafiz Town, and Khiyaban-e-Jinnah on Friday, he said modern and computerised surveillance system of close circuit cameras had been introduced at all the entry and exit points of the city to monitor the traffic movement at checkposts.
The CCPO further said that the city police are utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order in the city by foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists and anti-social elements. He said that in view of the present critical situation, there is a need to introduce modern technology and training of the police force. The installation of close circuit cameras at the check-posts would help police maintain a watchful eye on the activities of terrorists and miscreants.
According to the city police chief, the process of installation of modern computerized surveillance system with the cooperation of private sector had been initiated three years ago while 95 per cent work has been completed on this project.
