Oil tanker-van collision claims seven lives


DERA GHAZI KHAN - Seven persons were killed and five others sustained severe injuries in a collision between an oil tanker and a van here on Indus Highway near Kot Chattha on Friday.
 The accident occurred a carry van (DG-84) was moving from Dera Ghazi Khan to Sabzi Mandi early in the morning. When it reached 33 Morr on Indus Highway, a speeding oil-tanker MNS-2771, coming from the opposite direction, collided with its. Resultantly seven persons died on the spot while five others sustained severe injuries. On information, Rescue 1122 reached the scene and rushed the injured to DHQ Hospital. Meanwhile, the Kot Chatta police reached and identified the dead as Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Hayat, Muhammad Nawaz, Manzoor Hussain, Muhammad Ejaz, Van driver Anwarul Haq and others. The injured are: Muhammad Abdullah, Imdad, Ejaz, Mehboob and Haq Nawaz. According to the police, driver of the oil tanker driver lost control of the vehicle due to speeding while taking a sharp turn on the highway.
