Bahawalpur    -  The Directorate of Career Counseling and Placement Center (CCPC), The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, organized a daylong training session on Career Counselling and Career Growth, wherein hands-on training was imparted among the Assistant Registrars (ARs), Assistant Controllers (ACs) and Assistant Treasurers (ATs) of the Main Campus of IUB, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar Campuses. The Director CCPC Shahid Durrani imparted practical learning skills to enhance and harness the managerial abilities of the participants. Dr Jam Sajjad Hussain, Addl. Director and Faisal Siddique, AR CCPC were also present on this occasion.

The Vice Chancellor IUB Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, while addressing the concluding ceremony, shared that public and private organizations grow because of the capacity building of their management. “The Sub-Continent was a superpower during the regime of Chandragupta Maurya and in Mughal era during 17th Century; China remained superpower thrice in history, and it can be a superpower again by 2030,” he said, adding the rise and fall of empires and organizations is part & parcel in their historical journey. He said the attitude and ideal behavior patterns of the rulers in empires and governments, and managers in organizations matter a lot. “I dream to make Islamia University of Bahawalpur as no.1 University of Pakistan in the years to come and it is only possible by adopting a positive approach and ideal behavioral patterns of the management,” he reiterated. According to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, the University was expanding rapidly in terms of faculties, teaching and administrative staff, which required mobilization of financial resources with the same pace. He said owing to effective management and teamwork, we have progressed from 13500 to 53,000 students and the figures can jump to over 70,000 by Fall 2022 Admissions. The Vice Chancellor IUB further said Confucius introduced ideal behavior of an officer, accordingly, every civilization brings its own ideology and paradigm, similarly, we also need to promote peace and prosperity through ideal behavioral patterns. He shared this university has proved to be a change agent in the region for spreading diversity of culture. He stressed upon the ACs, ARs, and ATs to adopt positive behavioral patterns, which shall lead them towards win-win situation in their professional life. 

Earlier, the Director CCPC Shahid Durrani imparted hands-on training among the participants. He covered different areas including managerial, leadership and communication skills. The Director said the participants can enhance their performance by utilizing effective communication skills based on 7 Cs. According to him, the world has become a global village, which is closely connected through technological advancements and geopolitical changes, therefore, we need to move with the same pace of the developed world. Dr. Jam Sajjad Hussain also shared with the participants to use magical words while communicating with external stakeholders including media during critical situation to avoid embarrassment for top management or the university.
