SARGODHA    -   Three brothers were killed, while two others sustained se­rious bullet injuries over a land dispute here in Hathiwind area under the jurisdiction of Bhera police on Friday.

According to police sources, Asad Ranjja resident of Hathi­wind had a land dispute with Lukk family brothers includ­ing Shahid Lukk, Aslam Lukk, Nawaz Lukk, Zafer Lukk and Mansha Lukk. On the day of in­cident, Asad Ranjha and Lukk brothers exchanged harsh words on the issue. Later, Asad Ranjha along with few other un­identified outlaws opened fire at Lukk brothers when they were in their fields.

Shahid, Aslam and Nawaz died on the spot, while two other brothers including Zafer and Manshaa sustained seri­ous bullet injuries. Police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot, and shifted the bod­ies and injured to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Sargodha for legal formali­ties. Meanwhile, DPO Sargod­ha Bilal Zafer Shiekh directed concerned police to arrest the killers as early as possible.

14 POS, 12 DRUG PEDDLERS HELD

The district police, in a crack­down claimed to have arrested 14 proclaimed offenders (POs) as well as 12 drug peddlers and recovered illegal weapons and narcotics from them.

A police spokesperson Friday said that Cantt police, Kot Mo­min police, Laxsian police, Shah Nikdur police and City police conducted raids and arrested -- Ehsan, Nasir, Tayaab, Taqiq, Ta­hir, Afzal, Asif, Anwer, Kh Aslam, Yousaf, Younis, Wahaab, Rehm­an, Raof, Amir and others -- be­sides recovering 600-litre wine, 12 pistols from their possession.

MAN KILLS WIFE

A man killed his wife over some issues in Mitha Tiwana po­lice limits on Friday.

A police spokesperson said the incident occurred in Mitha Tiwana village where Farhat shot dead his wife Hajra Bibi, and fled. The police handed over the body to the family after a postmortem. Meanwhile, RPO Imran Mehmood took notice of the murder and sought a report from the DPO Khushab.
