47 militants killed in Swat operation: ISPR

Pakistan Army has claimed of killing more 47 militants in last 24 hours of its ongoing offensive in Swat, besides declaring that 27 militants of foreign-origin have so far been killed in the fighting, report said. Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj. Gen Athar Abbas while briefing the newsmen here Saturday said that three security personnel were also injured in the operation, redubbed as Rah-e-Raast, while five terrorists, including Afghans, have also been detained from Malam Jabba, Hayaserai and Shaamo areas. Militarys chief spokesman said that Army has cleared the area from Khwazakhela to Shangla from militants and the residents of the cleared-areas, forced to live as IDPs (internally displaced persons) in camps, might return to their homes.
