Judicial officers to resume court duties

KARACHI - Several judicial officials serving in different federal and provincial departments assured the SHC chief justice to resume their court duties. A high-level meeting with CJP Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry in chair is expected in Islamabad soon, TheNation learnt on Friday. According to the well-placed sources, on the response of the letters issued by SHC Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, most of the judicial officials contacted the chief justice via telephone and assured him about submitting their report pertaining to resume their posts at high court. The source said that on Thursday evening, the High Court CJ had issued letters to the judicial officials working on deputation. The JOs serving as secretaries and additional secretaries in different depts including Secretary of Interior, Secretary of Home department, PMU of Access to Justice Programme and others. He said that nearly 25 JOs judicial officials had been posted in various depts including Federal Secretary of Law Agha Rafiq Ahmed Khan, Provincial Law Secretary Peer Mohammad Sheikh, Shahid Ali Memon in PMU of Access to Justice Programme, Add'l Home Secy Sindh, Add'l Registrar Sindh, Solicitors Sindh, additional registrar and others. The CJ SHC took initiative on the directives of CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry.
