LAHORE - In the opening session of two-day Quaid-e-Azam Youth Conference, Justice (r) Ijaz Nisar said that Quaids thoughts were source of inspiration for the Muslims of the Sub-continent. He said the Quaid emphasised on the need of education particularly that of science and technology. He said the Quaid declared Pakistan a citadel of Islam and today it has become nuclear power that the enemies do not like. He said it is important to propagate Pakistan ideology to make Pakistan invincible. Ijaz Nisar also praised Majid Nizami and NPT for doing useful work to promote Pakistan ideology. Meanwhile Justice (r) Javed Iqbal said Quaid-e-Azam was proud of being a Muslim and he was against sectarianism, provincialism and regionalism. His thoughts gave birth to Islamic concept of equality, justice and liberty of human being in an Islamic state, he maintained. Dr Javed said the Quaid declared Urdu a national language and the constitution a federal parliamentary system giving guarantee to human rights and supremacy of law. The Quaid wanted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state and emphasised on the education of women, he said. Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood said the nations live because of their ideology. As far as a single Muslim is here, Pakistan ideology cannot be eliminated, he said, adding this is a guarantee for the solidarity of Pakistan in the face of present crises. He said Pakistan is a nuclear state and even the people of other Islamic countries regard Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan a nuclear state. He said we need educated youth to promote education on the basis of merit. We should hold the Pakistan flag high instead of party flags, he suggested. Syed Ahmad Saeed Kirmani said that quality education was the only way to the solidarity of Pakistan. Col (r) Amjad Hussain said he and Hameed Nizami (late) - who was his class fellow - met Quaid-e-Azam in a local hotel. Later the Quaid invited them as MSF leaders which was an honour for them. Abid Hussain Chatha said that Pakistan has to face challenges with courage. We should first know what kind of problem we are facing today and what is being done to us. He said America would not be a super power after 2025. Prof Humayun Ihsan said that we should locate enemies from within our own ranks. NPT Chief Coordinator Mian Aziz-ul-Haq Qureshi said that Pakistan is a seventh nuclear state but still it is being said that Pakistan is a failed state. He said Zardaris statement that India is not a threat to Pakistan is not true at all. Ex-MNA Begum Mehnaz Rafi said the Quaid and Madre Millat gave priority to education particularly of women. Prof Rashida Qureshi said that demarcation of religious and worldly education is a western concept, adding the West wants to deprive us of our Islamic values. Prof Dr Parveen Khan said that we should give priority to women education without which the society cannot make progress. Prof Dr Shafique Jullundhari said that Pakistan is facing worst crises after partition when 100 million people have migrated to Pakistan. He said damage to Pakistan would be harmful for world existence.
