CM appalled at condition of facility-less school


GUJRANWALA -  Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep concern over the missing facilities and directed the Education Department to provide maximum possible facilities to the public sector schools.
During his unscheduled surprise visit to Govt Girls Elementary School Farid Town here on Tuesday, the chief minister ordered the EDO Education to report to the Education Secretary and vowed a stern action against the negligent officers of the department.
 The Punjab CM witnessed himself the students of primary class getting education at the graveyard due to non-availability of rooms and building. He stayed for a while with the students of the facility-less school where as many as 763 students were being taught by 27 teachers in just seven class rooms. On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif asked questions from the students of primary classes and regretted over poor condition of the school. The chief minister was accompanied by Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, MNA Khurram Dastgir Khan, Commissioner and other high officials. On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif directed the Commissioner to compile a comprehensive report on missing facilities in public sector schools and colleges across the division.
It’s to be noted that a story appeared in a section of press about appalling state of the school prompted the Chief Justice of Pakistan to suo moto notice.
The CJP directed the Punjab Advocate General to personally visit the school and sought a report on the missing facilities and situation of the school.
