KARACHI – The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation launched a citywide fumigation drive on Tuesday.According to a KMC statement, the campaign, being launched under the Malaria Control Programme, aims to save the city from an outbreak of malaria and dengue.Under the drive, the area of district south is being fumigated on May 14 and 15, district east on May 16-18, district central from May 21 to May 22, Malir district on 23rd and 24th and district west from May 25-28. All district councils of Karachi will undergo fumigation on May 29 and 30. Officials concerned have been directed to ensure full and thorough spray in each and every area of the city. The Health Services senior director would be submitted progress reports of the drive on a daily basis.
