Govt flayed over Nato supply issue

LAHORE - Referring to the possible restoration of NATO supplies, Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch has said had the rulers shown some courage and patience, the US would have agreed to all demands including stopping drone attacks.
Addressing the concluding session of JI central workshop at Mansoora on Tuesday, he said that despite reopening of the supplies, the US is destined to face a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan.
Liaqat Baloch said Pakistan can still, with the help of Iran and Afghanistan, force NATO forces to pull out of the region. He said the rulers had demeaned the image of the country. During their four year rule, corrupt and dishonest leaders have ruined the economy of the country, he added. He also said the rulers had plunged the country into numerous crises including inflation, unemployment and law and order situation only to complete the US agenda and they were openly flouting the decisions of the superior judiciary. He said as long as Asif Zardari was in the Presidency, transparent and fair elections were not possible. He said that JI along with other political parties would keep on pressurizing the government for setting up an independent election commission and for timely general elections.
