Inter-campus declamation contest held at NUML

ISLAMABAD - Inter-campus declamation contest has been held at National University of Modern Language (NUML) Islamabad Campus on Tuesday.
The competition was between main and seven regional campuses. Though it was a declamation contest, there was also a spectacular view of regional integration, solidarity, sportsman spirit and uniformity for the audience.
In first round Muhammad Irfan from Multan Campus won the first cash prize of Rs 5,000, Anum Iqbal from Lahore Campus won the second cash price of Rs 3,000 and Zunaira Butt from Faisalabad Campus won the third cash prize of Rs 2,000 in Inter-Campus English Declamation Contest. Moreover, Sajid Ali Niazi from main campus won the first cash prize of Rs 5,000, Sajid Abbas from main campus won the second cash price of Rs 3,000 while Muhammad Arif Qureshi won the third cash prize of Rs 2,000 in Urdu Inter-campus Declamation Contest.
In the second round of performances, male students of Gilgit Baltistan, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Punjab, who were dressed in their regional and cultural attires including white Chitrali caps, traditional Ajraks and big white turbans, enthralled audience with their cultural dances on some popular folk tunes. A big gathering of students, deans, heads and faculty members of different departments of university and regional campuses of NUML admired these cultural dances.
Rector Major Gen (Retd) Masood Hasan, Director General Brig Azam Jamal, and Directors of seven Regional Campuses also attended the event. He felicitated students for their performances and said that such Inter-Campuses events provide opportunity to faculty members and students to interact with each other and share their experiences. It is great pleasure to see a great show of regional harmony and an environment of competition. Now, such events would be arranged on regular basis in which students of main campus would attend the events of other campuses and vice versa.
Dr Shaheena Ayub Bhatti expressed her gratitude for arrangement of first Inter-Campus event and said these events promote sense of positive competition among students. In the end Rector NUML distributed prizes among the winners.
