KARACHI - All Pakistan Oil Tanker Owners Association (APOTOA) threatened to suspend oil supply across the country while demanding protection for their oil tankers from snatching and kidnapping incidents here on Tuesday.

Mir Muhammad Yousuf Shawani Chairman of APOTOA addressing a Press conference on Tuesday at Karachi Press Club said that kidnapping cases have increased on the highways.

He said police and other law-enforcement agencies have failed to provide security to the transporters.

He said that culprits kidnap their tankers and later leave their empty oil tankers.

He said that we are paying taxes and also providing oil across the country but government seems reluctant to provide us security.  He said that oil supply will be suspended if government will not give us proper security arrangements within next 72 hours. He said that government authorities have informed that the NATO supply will be resumed in between May 15 to May 20 but did not give us the security plan for NATO supply.
