FlyDubai has officially commenced direct flight operations to Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) confirmed in a statement on Friday.
The inaugural flight from Dubai landed in Peshawar last night with 164 passengers on board. The arrival was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
The UAE-based carrier will now operate seven weekly flights between Dubai and Peshawar, further strengthening air connectivity between the two cities.
The PAA noted that the move is part of broader plans to expand flight operations from Peshawar to additional Gulf and European destinations in the near future.
This expansion follows FlyDubai’s earlier announcement to begin daily flights to Islamabad and Lahore from July 1, 2024. These flights will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International Airport (DXB).
“Pakistan has long been an important market for FlyDubai,” said Hamad Obaidalla, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer. “We look forward to offering passengers more opportunities to explore Dubai, the GCC, and beyond through our growing network.”
FlyDubai has been serving the Pakistani market since 2010, initially launching operations with flights to Karachi. The airline now flies to several Pakistani cities including Faisalabad, Karachi, Multan, Quetta, and Sialkot.
